Congratulations to Emma! She won 2nd place for 5th grade at her school science fair. Her project was about how household products kill bacteria. You'll be happy to know that her findings showed that all of the household products that claimed to kill bacteria, that she tested, really did kill bacteria.

great idea and great work! How did she test the presence or lack thereof of the endangered bacteria? This is interesting since Lucas did a bacteria test for a science project a couple of years ago.
Weston--I'm not sure if this answers your question, but we planted the bacteria (saliva) in petrie dishes of beef bullion and waited for the growth to occur. Of course, the bacteria only grew in the control dish.
